Getting to and Around D.C.

unnamed (1)

DC is a pretty easy city to navigate with a Metro and bus system that covers most of the city- except of course where our venue is located. We will arrange to have taxi’s come pick up folks at the end of the night and ask that everyone takes a taxi, Uber or Lyft to the venue.

Taxis:

Often Uber and Lyft offer first rides for free. You can download the apps on your phone by going to one of these sites:

uber: https://get.uber.com/go/

lyft: https://www.lyft.com/app

Airports:

The best airport to fly into is Ronald Reagan International Airport (DCA). This has easy access to the city by cab or metro.  However, there are two other airports that are great options.

Baltimore’s Thurgood Marshall airport (BWI). This is about a 50 minute drive into DC or there is a MARC commuter train that you can take from the airport into DC’s Union Station.

Finally, there is Dulles Airport (IAD) in Chantilly, Virginia. This is about 45 minutes form DC and you would need to take a cab or shuttle bus in order to get into the city.

Metro

Once you are in D.C. the Metro or Cabs/Ubers are you best bet. I find it helpful to use google maps while navigating the city. You can select the public transportation or walking option which will help you get around. You can find a printable metro map by going to this website: http://www.wmata.com/rail/maps/print_map.cfm

Happy DCing!
