Best Tourist Activities for the Winter

Tourist for a day

White House, Washington, D.C. Winter 2014

News Museum: A great museum about the news! This is a must see while here. http://www.newseum.org/

Library of Congress: This is a hidden gem near the Capital Building and Supreme Court but trust me you will want to see the inside of this spectacular building. https://www.loc.gov/

The American Museum of Art: There are two exhibits that we recommend: the Old Glory Flag and the First Ladies Dresseshttp://americanart.si.edu/

The Washington Monument: There is an elevator that takes you to the top and provides you with spectator views of the surrounding area. You can stand in line the day of to get free tickets or go here http://www.nps.gov/wamo/planyourvisit/fees.htm and schedule a visit.

The Kennedy Center: Every night the Kennedy Center features free shows on their Millineum Stage. We recommend getting there early and taking in the incredible views and beautiful building. http://www.kennedy-center.org/programs/millennium/schedule.html

Shelly’s Backroom Tavern and Cigar Lounge: Great cigar lounge close to the hotel. Relax in large overstuffed armchairs as you sample your favorite whiskey and enjoy your favorite cigar! You can even bring your own cigar! Stick around long enough and you’l see some crazy characters! I love relaxing here after work! Link here.

Church Key: Largest selection of beer in the city! 50 drafts, and over 500 bottles to choose from. If you love beer, then you owe it to yourself to check this place out! If you go, however, make sure you go early because it fills up quick. Linky McLink.
